I was rear ended at a stop sign by a nationwide customer. The woman was cited and a claims agent came to my work the following week. My car is Toyota Corolla 2007 SE, just barely a year old. I requested that the alignment be checked and was told the following: Nationwide would not pay for the alignment to be repaired as they felt there could be no damage to the alignment. So the alignment was left off the quote. Now if I wanted to pay for the alignment and then the dealership found that there was no misalignment, I would have to pay for the service. So because Nationwide feels that alignment is "subjective" they will not pay for what their customer did to my car. I should not be responsible for damage that I obtained parked at a stop sign by their customer. A insurance should pay for damage with the money provided them by customer premiums. I have never been with any other insurance than State Farm and have had wonderful support and service in times of need. Nationwide is not concerned with providing any type of support or compensation even if their client was cited?? I would highly recommend never utilizing their service for anything.. |

Our neighborhood has had some serious roof issues due to hail & wind storms& we have had continous storms. We need our roof replaced as it has leaked and damaged our inside and the roof shingles are damaged and we have paid for repairs each time we have a storm. Called them out to report that since each roofer said we have hail & wind damage that we need a new roof and our neighbor across the street has the same insurance that we have (NATIONWIDE) finally got his after 5 weeks of showing his butt, now they are not doing anything for us but giving us the run around. I would not recommend Nationwide to anyone for anything. My other neighbors had no problem with getting their roofs replaced. They have Shelter, Farm Bureau & State Farm! Bottom line I believe that OUR HOUSE same age as the others had the exact same HAIL & RAIN!!!!!!!!. |

I purchased a new car in October 2007. Before I closed the deal I called Nationwide who was already my insurance company to get a quote on the new car. I was happy with the quote and bought the car. In March I received my 6 month renewal and my monthly payment jumped up over $100. more per month than I was quoted. When I called to find out why they gave me a bunch of excuses about a new rate chart they go by. I did not have any accidents or tickets to cause such an increase. Now I pay $50. less than their original quote through another company. The customer service rep did nothing to help me.. |

I had a false claim filed against me, I had witnesses, sworn statements, and a confession from the person’s family. Yet their claims people decided to pay the claim without looking into any of it. They said I never told them I had this info, BS! When I got the initial letter saying I was being sued I pleaded with the adjuster and the office to not give in, to look further into it and to contact me because I wanted to be at all proceedings. I told them I had statements, witnesses and family members of the accusing person saying it was a lie. They told me these things take a while but they'd get back with me. Well they got back with me all right, to tell me they paid out the claim and my policy was not being renewed, unless of course I was willing to pay the new premium which went from $700 to $2500! The claim was for $3500, that they paid out because my dog scratched a kid who was trespassing in my yard which was clearly marked "Beware of Dog". My dog was a 2 month old puppy Blue Heeler, not a mean dog. I found another Insurance company who looked at all my statements and actually talked to the witnesses, and reviewed the case, guess what? They ruled the claim false and gave me insurance for $605 a year! So in the end it actually worked out better for me but not without a lot of undue stress. They wouldn't even insure my garage, unless I paid them more money, which the new company has no problem with insuring with no extra costs. And the new company I got is a lot more reputable and truly "Nationwide". I'm going to tell this story to everyone I know to steer them away from nationwide, whose motto is " Nationwide is on your side", but should add "Unless you have a claim because we could care less if it's false or not, we got more important things to deal with." All I can go on is my experience, and if I could've gave them a lower rating than 1 star I would've. |

My workplace endorsed Nationwide retirement products...DO NOT PUt ANY $$ in their retiremnt plans...The fees just ate all my profits. Much better to put in the bank at 3% than have them take your money. Every statement said fees: 0.00 VERY dishonest company!!. |

Good luck if you have a personal insurance plan with these guys. If you use your plan they will raise it. It's very expensive and while they pay the contract rate they will just as soon dump you to the curb. They suck - in short. |

I want to be sure that should I ever cause an accident, the other motorist will be taken care of; however, Nationwide could care less. They give the victim a run around and demand that their rental be turned in before paying off the victim leaving one searching for a way to work. They don't seem to care how stranded you are. They ensure people who should not even be on the road giving them the free reins to enjure or kill someone. "You're in good hands" ain't necessarily so.. |

I am not as impressed with Nationwide as the other reviewers. I paid for annual coverage of my home in December 2006. I received a notice at the end of January 2007 that they would not longer cover my phone because a tree branch was touching the roof. I think that is a simple thing to cure and that is not a reason to discontinue coverage on a home. I believe they discontinued it for reasons that are illegal on their part.. |
